Tischer picks up speed at the CMT
- Full throttle into the anniversary year: Tischer celebrates its 45th birthday at CMT
- Capacity expansion: new production hall completed
- Always under power: Booster for self-sufficient battery charging worldwide
Kreuzwertheim/Stuttgart. Tischer Freizeitfahrzeuge and CMT are celebrating a joint anniversary in 2018: the world’s largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure is turning 50, while Tischer is celebrating 45 years of market presence, which has made the company the leading manufacturer of pick-up drop-off cabins. It is a constant success story for both of them, which they were also able to shape together in part. In any case, Tischer has been a permanent fixture in Hall 5 for some time now. At stand B74, visitors to the trade fair will be impressed by powerful bolides, gleaming chrome and detachable space wonders. Tischer’s new production hall in Kreuzwertheim was completed just in time for the anniversary.
New building as a commitment to the manufacturing concept
With dimensions of 45 by 20 meters, the new hall offers more options for production processes. There were many reasons for the new building, as Peter Tischer explains: “The main reason was that we could no longer meet the high demand with the previous space. But it will also be more pleasant for our employees to work in the future, because we are optimizing production processes and improving the space available for breaks.” For example, the sandwich parts are now pressed entirely in the new hall. The final assembly of the cabins also takes place there. A much larger break room and spacious social areas are useful additions to the work processes. LED lighting, which is not only easy on the eyes but also energy-saving, provides a clear view.
After around a year of construction and the successful relocation of all machines, Tischer expects to increase capacity to 200 cabins per year. Assembly line production and fast-track processes are still not an issue: “We are firmly convinced that the high quality of our set-down cabins is only possible through flawless craftsmanship,” assures Peter Tischer. It was he who launched the company 45 years ago and committed it to this philosophy.
Where large machines are relocated, space is created for something new: a second lifting platform has now been installed in the previous production hall, which will have a positive effect on the throughput speed of the pick-ups. Installation of air springs, mounting of retaining parts, sockets or monitors for reversing cameras – this is where all the preparatory work on the cars takes place from now on. The offices were also extended and an additional reception room for guests was created. With this capacity expansion, Tischer is gradually increasing its market share and is making an ambitious start to its anniversary year 2018.
Full charge ahead
In addition to the “big picture”, Tischer has also worked on the technical details: From the beginning of the year, the company will be installing a so-called triple charger as standard, which ensures that the body battery is charged continuously and gently while driving. The latter is responsible for operating electrical devices such as the heater, refrigerator or water pump and is therefore of great importance for the basic functions in the set-down cabin. For the camper, this process facilitates the necessary charging processes by charging the body battery via the alternator while on the road. This makes the driver largely independent of charging stations and different plug systems around the world. This form of self-sufficient energy supply enables a more relaxed arrival at your vacation home. As the topic of “power supply” is of concern to the industry in general, Tischer is expecting interested inquiries in Stuttgart. In any case, the specialist advisors at stand B74 in hall 5 will once again be doing their utmost to satisfy visitors.
