A breath of fresh air for the quiet room
BOX 240 from Tischer with modernized bathroom as standard
Kreuzwertheim/ Düsseldorf. Camper romance: simply set off, leave everyday life behind and take your own home with you. Of course, you have to make a few compromises – especially when it comes to space. But with modern detailed solutions, every gap can be used sensibly. Whether it’s a motorhome, caravan or demountable cabin – the bathroom often plays an important role as the smallest room. Tischer has now given its bestseller, the BOX 240, a swivel toilet with state-of-the-art technology and a sliding door. Visitors to the Caravan Salon were able to take a look inside the new wet room.
Cornerstone, cornerstone, the door must be hidden
Many campers know the problem: the open bathroom door is always in the way and protrudes into the living area. Tischer has therefore now installed a sliding door that runs along the wall, creating noticeably more space at the doorway. A high-quality plastic was chosen for the material because it is particularly resistant to water. Despite the shower curtain, the door is normally exposed to splashing water from the shower and washbasin. As the manufacturing concept is part of Tischer’s corporate philosophy and all furniture is made in the company’s own joinery, the employees in production can already provide appropriate solutions for the sliding door. “We’ve been thinking about space-saving changes to the bathroom design for a while now. Now it was time to put these ideas into practice,” explains company boss Peter Tischer. However, the door is not the only innovation in the modernized bathroom of the BOX 240: With the Thetford C-223-S, the latest toilet technology has found its way into the quiet little place.
More comfort around the toilet
The C-223-S is a swivel toilet and provides more space in the bathroom thanks to its mechanism. This gives the camper more freedom when showering, for example. According to the manufacturer, the new geometry of this toilet also contributes to an improved flushing result. Comfort is also increased compared to the previous model, as the seat height of the C-223-S is now 49.2 centimeters. This should make it easier for tall people in particular to do business. Emptying the waste tank is also easier: for the first time, it has a handle and wheels. This means that the tank, which can weigh around 18 kilograms when full, no longer needs to be carried. Vacationers can simply pull it behind them to the nearest disposal station. “It’s important to pay attention to more than just the external appearance of the cabins. The details in particular can have a significant impact on the vacation experience. With a modernized bathroom, we are further developing the BOX 240 and making it fit for the future,” assures Peter Tischer. Initially, the changes will be applied to the BOX 240 as standard. However, it is quite conceivable that the wet cells of the other cabin models will also be modernized step by step.
