Kreuzwertheim/ Düsseldorf. New products, familiar faces: once a year, the Caravan Salon becomes the industry’s living room. Tischer’s set-down cabins have always been a familiar sight in Hall 12, and this year the company will be focusing on proven quality as well as fresh ideas at Stand B30.
Toyota Hilux – a long runner on the market
The latest face on the stand is a Japanese vehicle: the Toyota Hilux. It is not considered a veteran of all-wheel drive vehicles for nothing. As a true ’68 model, the pickup will soon be celebrating 50 years on the market. Now in its eighth generation, it is its proverbial robustness in particular that has made it the world’s best-selling pickup among small and medium-sized models. The editors of the BBC program “Top Gear”, among others, tested how much it can withstand in the third season. They drove the vehicle head-on through a hut, used a wrecking ball, set it on fire and placed it on the beach during high tide. After some cleaning work, the Hilux worked perfectly again. As a substructure for the Tischer TRAIL 230S, such loads are not to be expected – but the good feeling of absolute reliability still remains. Depending on the equipment variant, the 2017 model also offers a number of modern amenities for urban use, such as a reversing camera, traffic sign recognition and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection.
The red Hilux will be surrounded by other horsepower cars on the stand, carrying a Tischer TRAIL/BOX piggyback. There is, for example, a classy matt gray VW Amarok or a beefy Dodge RAM with chrome applications. But this year, Tischer living cabins are not only to be found on the company’s own stand.
Tischer at the Ford and Renault stand
The popular combination of Ranger and TRAIL 260S will be on display at the Ford stand. The pickup manufacturer is thus lending tangible weight to its growing cooperation with Tischer and opening the door to the compact caravanning market. Renault wants to secure market share in this segment with the Alaskan. It is based on the Nissan Navara, which has long since earned its spurs as an all-wheel-drive vehicle. The special feature: coil springs for the rigid rear axle. This means that full air suspension is essential when increasing the load, but it provides a much better ride and greater comfort. The Alaskan with a Tischer TRAIL 230S can be seen at the Renault stand. Both companies thus underline the advantages that the combination of pickup and camper van offers motorhome owners: first and foremost the enormous flexibility that a fully usable car brings to the vacation destination. That’s the big idea behind drop-off cabins. But great ideas require precision in detail. There are also innovations at Tischer in this respect.
Fresh ideas for the quiet room
The Tischer BOX 240 is one of the bestsellers from Kreuzwertheim. Now her wet room is getting some new features. The new door catches the eye as soon as you enter the bathroom: It is now a sliding door made of plastic. It is more flexible, runs along the wall and thus provides more space at the doorway. In the bathroom itself, campers will find the latest toilet model from Thetford. Compared to its predecessor, the C200, the C-223-S has a higher seat height of 49.2 centimeters, a swivel mechanism for the seat and bowl and an electric flush. “We’ve been thinking about space-saving changes to the bathroom design for a while now. Now it was time to put these ideas into practice,” explains company boss Peter Tischer. As everything is done by hand in the Tischer manufactory anyway, such changes are quickly implemented. Visitors to the trade fair are invited to form their own impression of the new bathroom. However, the visual highlight at the stand will be an old acquaintance.
Ranger as an eye-catcher with a “wow” effect
“The CSD is the highlight of the year. Of course, we like to come up with something special,” promises Peter Tischer mysteriously. Details are not available from the owner, but the planned Ranger is intended to form a particularly radiant connection with the TRAIL 260SD and convey a special theme at the trade fair stand. Here too, Tischer promises attention to detail and a “wow” effect to attract trade fair visitors.
Tischer GmbH Freizeitfahrzeuge can be found in Hall 12, Stand B30.
