Anniversary in the “golden city”
Anniversary in the “golden city”
Over 200 guests at the 20th Tischer Meeting in Prague for the first time
Kreuzwertheim/Prague. A weekend among friends – that traditionally defines the Tischer get-together. May 25 – 28 marked the twentieth anniversary of the event. More than 200 “Tischerans” met ten kilometers from the gates of Prague. They were looking forward to the “City of a Hundred Spires” and the Vltava River glistening in the sunshine. Above all, however, it was a reunion with old acquaintances who share the same passion. And so everyone had brought along their treasures: around 105 different vehicles with Tischer cabins. After the welcoming words from company boss Peter Tischer and some hearty refreshments, the guests quickly moved on to an expert chat. However, the first evening was not too late, as the cultural conquest of the Czech capital was on the agenda for the following day.
A touch of emperors and kings
The historic center of Prague has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock and Prague Castle are not only landmarks of the former seat of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, but also a magnet for around seven million tourists every year. Among them were the participants of the Tischer meeting, who made their way through the city on foot, by bus tour or on the river. Whether sightseeing, shopping or a visit to the museum – everyone spent the day as they pleased. In the early evening, the Tischer friends rounded off the day with a boat trip together. Thanks to live music and culinary highlights, the atmosphere was excellent as the sun slowly sank into the Vltava.
Exploring the surrounding area
Campers are nature lovers. That’s why some people took a break in the Prague countryside on Saturday. While hiking in the Wilde Scharka, some gathered their strength and enjoyed the largely untouched flora and fauna. Others soaked up the culture of the region once again and devoted themselves to the picturesque town of Kutná Hora. In the evening, however, everyone came together again – for the big closing party. Over Czech specialties and cheerful music, we were able to exchange tips, talk about camping ideas for the current season and, in some cases, plan joint tours.

Perhaps he will be at the next get-together in 2018. A picture gallery on Facebook already offers the opportunity to take a look back at this year’s Tischer meeting.
