The Tischer outer tent
Anyone who likes to drive away in a pick-up and Tischer camper van has special expectations when it comes to their personal vacation experience. Tours and excursions on busy roads? Not for Tischer fans! They much prefer to plan and travel away from the crowds: more individual, more independent and more unusual. If you want to enjoy even more freedom when traveling, there is now a seamlessly matching awning to complement the cabin. It is the ideal extension for all our models and was developed in close cooperation with the renowned specialist company dwt-Zelte.
Comfort, protection from wind and weather – a cooperation between Tischer & dwt Zelte
The Tischer awning consists of a roof, 2 side walls and 3 front wall segments, which you connect using robust zippers. The tent depth of approx. 220 cm gives you an impressive protected inner area.
- The uncomplicated pitching of the tent makes your trips with pick-up and camper even more self-sufficient.
- They cover your cabin entrance and protect the forecourt on two sides of the cabin against rain, wind and moisture.
- This means you can enjoy more comfort and privacy and create a valuable additional space for variable use: for sitting and socializing as well as for hobbies, for working on the move and for the safe storage of supplies, camping furniture, bicycles and accessories.

Structure and assembly
Unusual corner arrangement
- Handling, mounting and assembly can be done by one or two people without much effort.
- The tent is anchored by simply pulling it onto the standard piping rail mounted on the cabin.
- The tent roof is retracted on two adjacent sides of the cabin, so that the fully erected tent presents itself in an attractive over-corner arrangement.
Functionality
Cleverly combined tent elements
- When the weather is nice, you can remove all the front wall sections and then have a sun canopy on the cabin: just open and close the zippers!
- Tent entrance and window openings are incorporated into the 3 front wall segments. The segments can be interchanged and arranged in different ways.
- The two side walls each have a large window with a light and air-permeable gauze insert for permanent cross-ventilation in fine weather.
- The tent windows come with curtains as standard and roll-up embossed foil flaps on the outside, which can be closed quickly in rain and wind.
- The 30 cm deep canopy, which runs concave around the edge of the roof and is completely reinforced with steel tubes, provides additional protection for the walls and windows.
Materials and functionality
The material used for the roof and walls is high-quality trailtex fabric, which is PU-coated on the outside for additional robustness. Tent fabric of this type is lightweight, breathable and easy to wash.
- A raised ground strip made of PVC-coated polyester fabric on both sides of the tent floor provides the necessary waterproof seal. This element is also fully washable and very easy to clean.
- The optional scope of delivery includes robust windscreens that seal the inside of the tent tightly and protect against moisture and draughts.
High-quality rods from our own dwt production
To give the textile elements a high degree of stability and sturdiness, we decided, in consultation with the dwt tent designers, to use solid, easy-to-handle aluminum poles measuring 28/25 x 1 mm. It is produced in dwt’s own pole production facility to the highest German quality standards.
- Rods and struts can be telescoped in width, height and depth. This allows them to be adapted precisely to the individual TISCHER living area.
- Vario Clips type S are firmly attached to the tent skin to fix the tent poles quickly and conveniently to the cabin wall.
- They only need to be quickly slid into the piping rail and make it completely unnecessary to screw them anywhere on the vehicle wall.
- Above all, the attachment points of the tent to the cabin wall can be freely selected and fixed.
- Other features include GripStop quick-release fasteners and matching brackets.
